Christmas Carols in Marymount 🎅🏼🎄

Today the 6th Class children brought some Festive cheer to Marymount. They brought smiles to the faces of many who heard them and did themselves, their parents, teachers and school proud. Maith sibh!
Táim cinnte nach rinne sibh dearmad ar an lá seo go deo!
Be proud of what you did today!

Debating

Last Friday we had our first debate of the year. The topic of the debate was 'IPads should replace books in school.' Both sides of the debate were very well represented, with excellent arguments on both sides. The crossfire round was particularly impressive. Well done!

Presentation of our National Flag

Today the navy came to the school to present us with our National Flag as part of the 1916 Centenary. Two 6th class pupils read the proclamation as part of this ceremony and the school band played Amhrán na bhFiann. It was an afternoon to remember.

Daffodil Planting

Thanks to all the Mum's who came out in today's cold and windy weather to help Rang 6 plant their daffodil bulbs!
Now we just have to sit back and watch them grow...

Drámaíocht Sa Bhialann

IBhí an-spórt againn sa Rang Gaeilge an seachtain seo caite. Bhí cúpla daltaí ag cleachtadh chun post samhraidh a fháil mar freastalaí sa todhchaí!

Sciath an Scoil

Well done to our boys who did us all proud in Páirc Uí Rinn on Tuesday.

Goodnight Mr Tom

Here is a sample of some of the still images we created in Drama the other day. Our inspiration was our most vivid images from the novel 'Goodnight Mr Tom' which was a book we all thoroughly enjoyed.

Christmas Shoe Box Appeal

We know it's early but when we heard about this we were all in agreement that we would like to take part.
Over the past number of years Team Hope have been sending shoe boxes to boys and girls around the world. For some it will be the only Christmas present they will receive.
We had 4 criteria to fulfil.
-Something they could write with
-Something they could wash with
-Something they could wear
-Something to make them go Wow!
The children were so enthusiastic and made a big effort with their shoe boxes, choosing the contents carefully. I hope they are very proud of themselves.
There will be 20 children around the world very happy this Christmas, because of the kindness and generosity of this 6th class.
Maith sibh!

Happy Hallowe'en

This year we decided to make an extra special effort for Hallowe'en and design and make our own costumes. It took several weeks to design, plan, re-draft and make our costumes. Here is a taster of some of our wonderful creations. They are pretty spooktacular!!👻👹
