Road Safety Week

Last week we were focussing on the importance of Road Safety. We did a walkability survey of the area, an poster competition for Road safety rules and a safe cross cide dance off!It was a jam packed week to say the least!
On Thursday Carol from the RSA came to talk to us about the importance of Road Safety and being constantly aware while we are out and about!
It was a great week but the highlighy for our class was the Dance Competition on Friday. Our enthusiasm for the competition paid off and we were delighted to be announced winners!

Christmas Carols in Marymount 🎅🏼🎄

Today the 6th Class children brought some Festive cheer to Marymount. They brought smiles to the faces of many who heard them and did themselves, their parents, teachers and school proud. Maith sibh!

Debating

Last Friday we had our first debate of the year. The topic of the debate was 'IPads should replace books in school.' Both sides of the debate were very well represented, with excellent arguments on both sides. The crossfire round was particularly impressive. Well done!

Presentation of our National Flag

Today the navy came to the school to present us with our National Flag as part of the 1916 Centenary. Two 6th class pupils read the proclamation as part of this ceremony and the school band played Amhrán na bhFiann. It was an afternoon to remember. 

Daffodil Planting

Thanks to all the Mum's who came out in today's cold and windy weather to help Rang 6 plant their daffodil bulbs!

Now we just have to sit back and watch them grow...
