Last Wednesday we had a visit from a very special person. Seán had made his Confirmation and came back to see us all. We were thrilled to have him back and it was wonderful to see him so happy and mature. We look forward to having him back in Ballinora again soon.

1916 Projects
We have spent the last couple of months learning about the events before, during and after Easter 1916. We have learned so much about our country's history and what was sacrificed to achieve our independence. We are very proud of our country. After all we learned, we decided to focus on those personalities of the Rising, who were most interesting to us.
Our New School
Today was the very first day in our brand new school! For the first time ever our school has stairs!!All the rooms are so bright and airy. We are thrilled (even if we are a little further away from the pitch!)

Celebrating Ireland
Today was, without a doubt, a day to remember!
The day began with our class, and the other senior classes, reading out our Proclamations for Ireland's future. We raised our National Flag and sang Amhrán na bhFiann.
The halla was a hive of activity. We were treated to a fantastic performance by our Banna Ceol. This was followed by a recitation of 'The Mother' by Pádraig Pearse and performances of 'Óró sé do bheatha 'bhaile', the ballad 'Grace' and 'An Maidrín Rua'.
The day came to an end with a school céilí, certainly our best yet!
It was a wonderful day that was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Maith sibh a pháistí!

Bit of Gardening
We braved the freezing cold this morning to help Pat with a bit of gardening!
Earth is turned and the rocks are gone. Next step is to plant something there! Although we won't be in the prefabs for too much longer to watch them grow!!

Maths Workshop
Today the Lifetime Lab paid us a visit for a Maths workshop. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all and some became engrossed in a challenge and refused to move from it until they had it mastered- which they did manage, so well done to them!
There were many hands on activities that helped to develop logic and reasoning skills and spatial awareness along with many other mathematical strategies. It was fun to do Maths in such a creative way as I think we have all had our fill of Entrance Exams!
Thank you Lifetime Lab!We really enjoyed it!
